Meet Dr. Stephen W. Holm Lewiston, ID
Dr. Holm was raised in Southeast Idaho. After graduating from high school, he served a two-year mission and worked among the native people of Otavalo, Ecuador.
Dr. Holm attended Ricks College (now Brigham Young University-Idaho) and Idaho State University for his undergraduate predental studies. During these years, he met and married a beautiful redhead named Kira. In 2000, he and his wife moved to Lexington, Kentucky to attend dental school. In 2004, and upon graduation from The University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, Dr. Holm began a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Carle Foundation Hospital/Clinics in affiliation with the University of Illinois School of Medicine in Urbana, Illinois. He distinguished himself didactically while authoring medical research papers, as well as surgically throughout his residency. Dr. Holm served as Chief Resident from 2007-2008. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Holm enjoyed going on foreign mission trips where he was able to use his Spanish and perform cleft lip and palate surgery. He is stimulated and fulfilled by operating in some of the poorest areas of the world, among some of the most humble people, and in the most austere environments.
For personal recreation, Dr Holm enjoys working alongside his seven children, maintaining and caring for 300+ fruit trees, and rows upon rows of blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. He prefers to be with his family riding bikes, playing the guitar, the cello or his drums. Dr. Holm loves to read, practice martial arts, serve in his church, and be outside in the sun. |
